Matthew Wong is an Associate of Karas So LLP.
He has growing experience across a range of contentious matters. With respect to commercial litigation and general advisory work, he previously assisted banks and financial institutions with various matters involving the disposition and custody of client assets, as well as issues on licensing and digital assets. He has also worked on regulatory investigations by the Securities and Futures Commission and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
Prior to joining the firm, Matthew worked as a trainee solicitor at an international law firm. He read law at the University of Hong Kong with First Class Honours, including a year spent on exchange at University College London.
Matthew is bilingual in English and Cantonese, fluent in Mandarin, and has a working knowledge of Japanese.

- Acting for a global cryptocurrency trading platform in an SFC investigation into its potential active marketing of business in Hong Kong without a licence
- Acting for a corporate finance adviser in an SFC investigation into its failures in discharging its duties of due diligence in sponsoring an IPO
- Acting for a director of a listed company in an investigation by the Hong Kong Stock Exchange into an alleged breach of directors’ duties in relation to misused IPO proceeds
