Kristin Au

Kristin is an Associate at Karas So LLP. 

She has advised and represented clients in commercial litigation and investigations arising from major corporate collapses and insolvencies involving fraud, professional negligence and breaches of fiduciary duties.  Kristin has experience acting for liquidators in civil proceedings against directors, auditors and banks, including in interlocutory and injunction applications.  

She has also worked in the Corporate team of Mishcon de Reya’s London office on secondment.

Kristin is a native speaker of English and Cantonese, and is fluent in Mandarin.

Key Experience

• Advising and acting for liquidators in relation to various high-profile corporate collapses involving formerly listed companies, with operations in sectors including property development, food and beverages and sanitary ware.
• Acting for the liquidators of a medical company formerly listed on NASDAQ in multiple actions in Hong Kong, including claims against the company’s former directors, officers and other third parties for breaches of fiduciary duties, fraud, dishonest assistance, knowing receipt and unjust enrichment.
• Acting for the liquidators of a food and beverage company formerly listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in proceedings against its former auditors for professional negligence, including an appeal to the Court of Final Appeal.
• Acting for the liquidators of a tea production company formerly listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in ongoing proceedings against its former auditors for breach of duty arising from failures to identify false accounting and misappropriations of the company’s funds.
